The draws for the jackpot at Viejas casino are happening every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout this month in an effort to give customers a boost for Christmas.

All V Club cardholders can play and the potential is there to scoop up to $5,000 every hour. So far there have been 48 winners.

Gamblers earn their entry by playing bingo, slot machines and table games in what managing director Rikki Tanenbaum calls the "biggest holiday casino promotion of its kind" in the county.

He added: "We'll be giving away $40,000 every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in December, so there will be lots of holiday cheer to spread around at Viejas Casino".

The complex has been voted San Diego's best casino for ten consecutive years and in September it opened a new poker room with more than 20 tables.
