Gambling bill 'will make US online poker and casino leaders'
An industry expert claims a new gambling bill being discussed in congress should be stopped as it would make the US international gambling leaders.
The US will become a world leader in online gambling if a new bill passes through congress, according to specialist industry experts.Global Betting & Gaming Consultants claims the new gambling bill will deny access and discriminate against online casino or poker websites which operate outside of America. The European Union is urging the UK to drop the bill, claiming they constitute an "obstacle to trade" inconsistent with World Trade Organisation rules. Warwick Bartlett, chief executive of Global Betting & Gaming Consultants, said the bill would allow people in the US to apply for a gambling licence allowing them to take bets from American citizens and also people worldwide. He added: "Well if nothing is done and this bill passes in the United States effectively the United States will become the global market for internet gambling on poker and casino." PartyGaming recently launched a new marketing campaign for its online casino and poker sites, which will encourage players to "feel" the excitement and "rush" of turning cards or spinning roulette wheels. |
