Roulette Rules
Roulette is a very simple game to learn and play. Of all the casino games it is one of the easiest. Roulette consists of a ball, a roulette wheel and a roulette betting table. Different types of bets are available and are made before a ball is spun. Once the ball lands on a particular number’s pocket, the dealer will then place the winning marker on the winning number. Chips will then be paid out to the winners. There are two main types of betting categories in roulette, the inside bet and the outside bet. The bets on the field of numbers in the centre portion of the layout are called inside bets. Here are the payouts for the inside bets: Straight Up One Number Bet A bet on a single number is called a straight up bet. To place this bet, all you have to do is put the chip or stack of chips directly on the desired number without touching the borders. The payoff for this bet is 35 to 1. Split Bet Two Number Bet A combination bet that is placed on the line between two different numbers is called a split bet. This bet pays 17 to 1. Street Bet A street bet is a three number combination bet on any of the three number rows. All you have to do is look for the outside border of the block of three numbers. This pays 11 to 1. Corner Bet A corner bet is a four number combination bet on any square block of four numbers. The bet is placed in the middle of four numbers on the cross part of the borders. This pays out 8 to 1. Five Numbers This bet covers the numbers 0,00,1,2,3. The payoff is only 6 to 1 and is also called the sucker bet because the house has the biggest edge on this bet. Line Bet A line bet is a six number combination bet on two adjacent rows and is also called a double street bet. The payout here is 5 to 1. Outside Bets Dozens The betting layout of roulette is divided into three gorups of twelve numbers each called dozens. You will find them marked as 1st 12, end 12 or 3rd 12. The payoff for these bets is 2‐1. Columns At the end of each vertical column you can also place a bet for that particular row of 12 numbers. The payoff for this bet is 2‐1. Colour You can bet on the ball either landing on black or red. If you bet the correct colour, you are paid 1‐1 Even or Odd This bet works the same as the colour bet. If you pick the correct even or odd number, you are paid 1‐1. The digit zero does not count as odd or even so you lose the bet if the ball falls on zero. Low or High His bet allows you pick whether you are betting for the numbers 1‐18 or 19‐36. The payout here is 1‐1.
