888 to purchase Wink Bingo
Casino group 888 is to purchase the Wink Bingo network in a deal worth almost £60,000 in a bid to increase its share of the UK market.
Casino group 888 has announced that it intends to buy the Wink Bingo network in a multi-million pound deal.The company has agreed to pay £11 million up front for Wink, then an amount based on earnings until March 2011. It is thought that in total the value of the deal stands at £59.7 million. Wink Bingo already uses the Dragonfish platform, which is an arm of 888, to run its operation. It runs Wink Bingo, Posh Bingo and Bingo Fabulous and had over 60,000 active players in October. Gigi Levy, chief executive of 888, said: "We are delighted to announce the Wink Bingo acquisition as an expansion of our online bingo footprint in the lucrative UK market. The Wink team has a proven track record of excellence and will be a great addition to our growing bingo business." 888 holdings recently announced that it would be launching a new bingo site, 888 bingo, which it claims will be the "most luxurious online bingo site on the internet today".
